My Stepfather
Wow, it has been so long since I have blogged!! I have so much to catch up about my life in 2011 and 2012. My girls went back to SCA for their second year. It was hard to give up homeschooling, but after last year I was starting to get used to them being back in school. The school year started off pretty good, until we found out that my stepfather had lung cancer and it turned all of our lives upside down, to say the least. We spent 2 months with him in and out of the hospital. We sent up several prayers, but God decided to call him home. I know I will see him again one day, but it still does not make it any easier. He was truly a very special stepfather(more like a father to me ) and even better grandfather to my girls. Not a day goes by that I don't miss him terribly bad. We have just tried to pick up the pieces and move on with our live. He was the glue that held our family together. We all miss him so much!!!!

It has been a long time!!!
It has been a very long time since my last post. I have had a lot of changes in my life. One thing that happened to me was that my seven year old dachshund Emma died. This was a very sad time for me. She was like part of my family. I miss her so much and I still get really sad when I think about her. She was the sweetest dog ever and my girls just loved her. She would scratch on the door at night and wait for me to let her in the house. She would get on her bed and not move until the next morning when she was ready to go outside. I always bought her a Christmas preset and she would tear into the paper to get her surprise. I am going to miss that this Christmas. I tried to replace her with another dog, but it did not help. She was a very special dog and I will always keep her memory near my heart.

Valentines Day Special Dinner
Every year for Valentines Day I always cook a special meal for my family. I decorate the table really fancy and my girls just love get to drink out of wine glasses. I usually have it by candlelight, but this year we did it after church in the daytime. I still put candles on the table for looks. I have been doing this for years and it has become one of our family traditions. I always get the girls a little something special to unwrap. This year was special because we had our Aunt staying with us and she was able to join us for the dinner(Lunch).

Before and After!!!
I bought a chair at a yard sale that was a benefit for a little girl with cancer. I needed a chair for my oldest daughters school desk and this chair looked like it would work just fine with a little work. My dear hubby sat in her other one and broke it somehow. I only paid $15.oo for the chair (and it went to a great cause). I think it turned out really cute and was a good investment. I spray painted it black to match her desk and I had some cute black and white stripe fabric that
I used to recover the seat.

Christmas Traditions
I started a Christmas tradition with my kids a couple of years ago making sugar cookies. You know the kind you roll out the dough and cut shapes out and decorate with icing and sprinkles. It makes a mess in the kitchen, but the girls love making them. I bough them some plain aprons last year and never got around to doing anything on them last year. So I was determined to get them finished in time for our sugar cookie making this year. They looked so cute in their new aprons.

Lazy Acres Tree Farm
Last Year we went to the Lazy Acres Tree Farm in Mississippi to get a real tree. So I decided that we would go back this year and get a live tree. We have had an artificial tree up until last year. I just love the smell of a real Chistmas tree. It had been raining all week so I new that it would be muddy, so I packed extra shoes for the girls to wear. I guess it was a good thing to because it was so muddy. We caught a ride on the sleigh and headed out to the feild to pick our perfect Christmas Tree. My deer husband cut our tree down with a hand saw. He loaded it on the sleigh and the guy got it ready for us to take home.

A little bit of Sewing
A good friend of mine and I went on a girls weekend about 2 months ago and we went to Hobby Lobby and bought an apron pattern. When the new Joannes opened in Meridian, I bought some really cute fabric with my apron in mind. I changed the pattern a little bit and put a d ring on the strap so you could adjust the strap. It was really easy to make and I think it turned out really cute. I may use it for a Christmas present!!!!!

Thanksgiving!!
I would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. I love Thanksgiving because it is a time that we can spend with family. I am thankful for so many things. God has blessed me so much in my lifetime. Sometimes we need to just stop and thank him for the many blessings of life.

Shoe Boxes
Our Womens group at our church does the Samaritans Purse shoe boxes every year. The girls and I volunteered to do shoe boxes for girls ages 5-9. We had so much fun buying things for the children. I hope that my children will learn to have a heart for missions and realize how fortunate they are to have so many things. Each one of my girls filled their own box and put a picture of herself in the box. We did five shoe boxes in all.

My Anniversary!!!
Today, November the 10th, is my anniversary. I would just like to say Happy Anniversary to my wonderful husband. I feel that I am truly blessed to be married to such a great man. Don't get me wrong he has his faults, but God has taught me to look past those and see the good in him. He is a great provider for me and my girls. He has given me 4 wonderful daughter(3 of mine and one of his). He has been very patient with me over the years and has overlooked my faults. I truly believe that he is my soul mate and I thank God for him. I know that he loves me and he often prays for me. God has truly blessed me with a wonderful husband and I am so very thankful for him...I LOVE YOU TERRY!!!!!!!!!
